This hollow load process challenge device (PCD) is used to monitor correct air removal (steam penetration capability) in small Class B steam sterilisers. The indicator strips are equipped with a removable, self-adhesive tag making it possible to stick the indicator result in a logbook. The TST Control Helix has a limited useful service life and must be replaced after being used with 250 indicators. Adherence to this replacement interval is important because a defective PCD can produce erroneous test results.
