SABANA PGLA 910 rapid (Polyglactin 910) is a sterile, synthetic, multifilament, braided, rapidly absorbable surgical suture material made from a copolymer of 90% glycolide and 10% L-lactide. SABANA PGLA 910 rapid uses a polymer material with a lower molecular weight than normal SABANA PGLA 910 (polyglactin-910 suture material), making it rapidly absorbable, which results in a rapid loss of tensile strength after implantation. It is coated with a mixture of polyglactin 370 copolymer (30% glycolide and 70% lactide) and calcium stearate. Tensile strength: short term. Dissolution time: 30-50 days.
