PDS Plus is a slowly absorbable suture material containing IRGACARE MP, the purest form of TRICLOSAN, and thus creates an inhibitory zone against the most common Gram-positive and Gram-negative pathogens responsible for postoperative wound infections. PDS Plus is indicated in cases where delayed wound healing is anticipated and secure wound adaptation is required for an extended period (up to 6 weeks). Indications: abdominal wall closure, fascial closure, intestinal anastomoses, ligament and tendon adaptation, hand surgery. It retains 60% of its original tensile strength after 42 days. Complete loss of tensile strength occurs after 70 days. The material remains in the body for between 182 and 238 days. Needle type: 1/2 circle, round body, pointed, 26 mm.
