Marlin rapid is a synthetic absrobable suture material made from polyglycolic acid (PGA). Compared to Marlin this PGA has a lower molecular weight and thus a shorter absorption time. The braided suture is coated and ensures light knot sliding and excellent tissue penetration. Marlin rapid degradates in the human body by hydrolysis with very low tissue reaction. Tensile strength is reduced by 50 per cent after 7 days, after about 42 days degradation is completed. Marlin rapid undyed is provided as needled suture and as ligature pack. 1/2-circle, round body taper point needle, 17 mm
