MARLIN®II is a synthetic, absorbable suture material made from polyglycolic acid, characterised by a particularly high linear tensile strength. This ensures a stable suture. Thanks to its precision braiding and coating, this suture is of exceptionally high quality. It is pleasantly soft and is characterised by its suppleness and low sawing effect. The knot can be placed precisely and repositioned without difficulty.
It is absorbed by the body through hydrolysis, causing very little tissue reaction. After 22 to 24 days, the tensile strength is still approximately 50 per cent, and resorption is complete after approximately 90 days.
