The talking, fully automatic upper arm blood pressure monitor not only displays the measurement results on the screen but also announces them audibly. The volume of the BM 49 is adjustable, and the voice function can be switched off if required. The measured values are announced in the following languages: DE, FR, IT, NL.

- The measured values are classified according to the guidelines of the World Health Organisation (WHO) and displayed on a colour scale
- Arrhythmia detection: warns of possible heart rhythm disturbances
