Cooling pad for the medical temperature control for inpatient and mobile use.
- TTCool-pad is a non-active, skin-compatible and non-invasive surface cooling system for the temperature reduction of body parts or the whole body.
- It helps to reduce the body temperature until a certain target temperature has been reached (Target Temperature management), to reduce fever and to achieve normothermia or therapeutic hypothermia if this therapy is medically indicated. It is used for fever, after a cardiac arrest and successful resuscitation, myocardial infarction, stroke, sepsis and traumatic brain injury. TTCool-pad can also be used for the treatment of local swellings after injuries (skin needs to be intact), for pain reduction, luxation cooling, tissue injuries and whenever a medically cooling is needed.
- For patients with less than 35 kg body weight, the TTCool Pad should not be used for therapeutic hypothermia treatment or for a reduction of the body temperature below the normothermia range.
- Depending on the area of application and desired temperature, one or more TTCool pads can be applied with the medical glue layer to the patient’s body part that needs to be cooled.
- In order to get a body temperature of 33°C, an average of 2 single pads (= one packaging unit) per 10 kg body weight is needed. The number of pads actually needed depends on the desired target temperature, body weight and the patient’s specific energy balance.
- When cooling larger body parts (not only locally) it is important to monitor the body temperature with appropriate measuring instruments that reliably capture the core temperature.
- Depending on the area of the applied cooling pad, it can be used for achieving normothermia (36 - 37°C) or for achieving and maintaining the core temperature of the therapeutic hypothermia (32 - 34°C).
- TTCool pad is permeable for X-ray, CT and as it does not contain any metallic parts even for MRI. The cooling pad can be used without interfering imaging diagnosis during angiography.
- Thermochromic points allow the simple and reliable optical control of the remaining cooling capacity. Colour indicators change colour from blue to red once the energy of the device is consumed.
- Colour of the temperature indicators: dark blue = cold; red = warm close to room temperature (content of the cooling cell is thawed).
- Pad size: 156 x 207 x 15 mm
- Number of cooling elements of each pad: 48
- The pad can be divided by simply tearing at the perforation points. Especially helpful when cooling smaller areas.
- Each packaging unit comes with a brief instructions
- TTCool pad is a disposable product that has to be disposed in accordance with the disposal requirements for bacterially and virally contaminated materials.
